Hello there. The blogger was too busy planning for the HALLOWEEN dance - music and food and posters and what not - to post about our day.
I thought it was a particularly nice day - though it would have been better if it had snowed. Soon enough, soon enough.
We are working hard on our Why Patriotism Still Matters essays - they are not easy but it has led to some interesting discussions. Only two more days to work on them!
Math is cruising along. We're coming to the end of Unit 2.
Our masks are mostly finished and on their way home.
WE are up to 111 books read and I will WILL post a list of those titles soon.
That's enough for now.
Don't forget - DANCE on Friday AFTERNOON! Please consider bringing some snacks to help fuel our crazy costumed dancers! THANKS!!!!

writing for today
Please write 250 - 300 words on one of the following two topics.....
"What's a daily activity you must do that's not one of your favorite activities? Be specific. Once you have it, write a piece called 'Ten things that are worse than [whatever activity you thought of].'"
or
What would you say to yourself? Write an imaginary scene between you at your current age and you at a younger age. If you don't want to use dialogue, you don't have to."

100 BOOKS
Our class officially reached the 100 books read mark TODAY - October 19! Heather L - finished Stolen Children by Peg Kehret to put us over the top!
What a great bunch of readers!
I wonder if we can reach 200 by Xmas???
It might be fun to list all of the books here. We'll have to work on that!
Happy reading!

New Week - and a short one!
Happy Monday!
Only a two days left in the week... and only a couple of weeks left this quarter. Hard to believe!
Almost all of the kids now have their own blogs - we worked on them in computer lab today. Check soon for links off of this very page :)
We are working hard on multiplying with decimals along with multiplying with powers of 10.
The Inca projects are almost finished and ready to be presented (I HOPE!).
Our number of novels read is growing daily (and creeping very near the 100 mark!)
We all have one more quick revision to do on our writing about our Rooms....
Quite a few kids have taken their first stab at book talks... with everyone else signed up to give one.....
Pretty good progress I'd say. And PHEW, I think we are all ready for a couple of days off at the end of this week!
OH...
and...
Good job Knights Basketball - our class has 5 sixth graders playing on the junior high team! Their first game was tonight in Plains. They also play tomorrow afternoon in Libby!
I will be sure to post the rest of their schedule here, so that we can go cheer them on at their home games!
